Youth Ministry 30 Hour Fast

The Saint Andrew Youth Group is joining youth from Saint Benedict and Saint Edward for a 30 Hour Fast

Think you can do it?

Teens from all three parishes pledge to go without food** for 30 hours, to be in solidarity with those who go hungry every day. We will know how it feels to wake up and go to bed without food, while participating in a chaperoned youth retreat at Saint Edward parish. Teens will attend mass together to receive the Eucharist on Saturday night – talk about “food for the journey!”

Retreat: 12:00pm* Saturday, March 9th - 6:00am Sunday, March 10th
Saint Edward Gymnasium, 4457 N Lowell Ave

Activities, games, and talks will focus on Jesus’ ministry and compassion for the poor, based on materials provided by Catholic Relief Services.

All money raised by Saint Andrew teens will be donated to Catholic Relief Services.

Teens, grades 8-12:

Join us in the 30 Hour Fast! Download the form, collect your pledges, and bring your sleeping bags to the lock-in at Saint Edward Gymnasium. We will gather at 12:00pm on Saturday, March 9th and finish up with breakfast at 6:00am on Sunday, March 10th.

Adults and kids:

*Although the retreat begins at 12:00pm, teens will begin their fast at 12:00am on Friday!
**Clear, unsweetened beverages are acceptable, such as coffee, tea, water, and sports drinks (ex: Gatorade, Powerade, water with electrolytes, etc.)
